Alex Carey, Adam Zampa and Shaun Marsh are among Australia's likely World Cup squad members to have nominated for the Indian Premier League auction.

Usman Khawaja and fit-again express paceman James Pattinson are also among the 23 Australians to have thrown their hats in the ring, as have big-hitting Hobart Hurricanes batsmen D'Arcy Short and Ben McDermott.

The final auction list for the Twenty20 tournament has been released, with some 346 cricketers set to go under the hammer in Jaipur on December 18.

The reserve price for Marsh and Short is INR 2 crore (approximately $385,000 AUD), while the bidding for compatriots Aaron Hardie, Aaron Summers, Jack Prestwidge, Jason Sangha and Jake Weatherald will start at at a tenth of that.

Uncapped 19-year-old Hardie is yet to make his Big Bash League, Sheffield Shield or domestic one-day debut.

But the highly-rated West Australian captured the prized scalp of Virat Kohli last month at the SCG, impressing India's Test squad during their only tour game by snaring 4-50 then scoring 86.

The record IPL price for an Australian is INR 12 crore (approximately $2.3 million AUD), which superstars Steve Smith and David Warner were bought for earlier this year.

However Smith and Warner missed out on that income because they were barred as part of the fallout to the Cape Town cheating scandal.

Smith and Warner have been retained by their franchises but questions remain over their availability, as is the case with all of Australia's best players.

Australia are set to be relatively under-represented in the 2019 IPL compared to previous seasons, with Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins among the proven stars opting against a return.

Cricket Australia has made it clear its 15-man World Cup squad will need to attend a pre-tournament training camp in May.

The IPL, which runs from March 29 until May 19, is also set to clash with an ODI series between Australia and Pakistan plus the Sheffield Shield final.

Experienced allrounders Dan Christian, who was sold for approximately $1.25 million AUD in 2011 when he had played just three T20 internationals, Moises Henriques and James Faulkner will all go under the hammer.

The list of Australians to nominate for the auction is rounded out by Fawad Ahmed, Kane Richardson, Ben Dwarshuis, Ben Laughlin, Chris Green, Ashton Turner, Sean Abbott and Jack Wildermuth.
