BRADLEY Beal came up big, as the Washington Wizards secured a 125-124 comeback win in double-overtime over a weakened Boston Celtics side.

Boston - without Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown - led by as much as 20 points, but were tracked down by Washington, who needed a win to consolidate their lead over the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference standings.

Jody Meeks drained a corner three to send the game to OT, and a Jayson Tatum missed free throw saw the game head to 2OT, where the Wizards held on for an impressive road win.

Washington shared the scoring around without John Wall; Beal leading the way with 34 points; while Marcus Morris had 31 for Boston.
