LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher believes one stat from the weekend proves that Jose Mourinho has lost the dressing room at Manchester United.

The Sky Sports pundit insists time could be running out for the Special One, whose side have failed to win any of their last three games in all competitions.

A rift between World Cup winner Paul Pogba continues to rumble on, while Mourinho recently hit out at his squad following their defeat against West Ham.

The Portuguese, 55, declared that some players do not care about the club’s shocking form, and Carragher has highlighted one stat that backs his claim.

United made just 58 sprints on the weekend - the lowest number from all 20 Premier League sides - almost 20 below 19th placed Wolves, and nearly 100 behind Liverpool.

Carragher said: “The last two games I’ve seen live were not far away from a disgrace. Every team will have a game or two like that where your character and commitment will be questioned.

“We’ve seen this now three or four times in ten games under Jose Mourinho, that’s the worrying thing.

“I have no doubt when I see his comments in the press conference where he says some players are trying harder than others that he’s lost the dressing room. It’s not rocket science.

“The worrying thing is [it is] now the third time that it’s happened. It happened at Real Madrid with Casillas and Ramos. Then it happened at Chelsea with Hazard and others.

“Now there is talk of it happening with a group led by Pogba. So there is no doubt there are massive problems.

“What shows you that is the sprints. It’s not so much that they’re bottom, it’s the gap to Wolves who are second bottom.

“You normally run more when you’re losing and especially with the early goal. They should be right at the top.”

While he also added: “He stripped Pogba with the captaincy in front of the other players. He has lost the dressing room and it’s not the first time it has happened.

“Mourinho was the manager of the decade in the 2000s but people are rightly asking if that style of football and management still works.

“Mourinho is not a builder of two or three teams, he builds one then he moves on. He’s very confrontational. He’s had success doing that but after two or three years everyone is burned out – himself, the club, the players.

“Are you going to get rid of the players or a manager that never lasts more than three years at a club? I think he’s got a huge problem.

“With two international breaks coming, I think he may have a huge problem if he doesn’t turn it around very quickly.”
