The Bills announced Sunday the hiring of former Alabama offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to the same role.

Daboll spent just one season as Alabama OC, helping the Crimson Tide win a national championship. He previously worked on the Patriots' coaching staff.

Daboll and Bills head coach Sean McDermott have connections dating back to William & Mary, when McDermott was finishing his playing career and Daboll was a volunteer assistant.

In addition to working for the Patriots, Daboll has also spent time as the Browns, Dolphins and Chiefs offensive coordinator.

Alabama will be searching for its seventh different offensive coordinator of the Nick Saban era, and its third offensive coordinator in three seasons.
