Former India captains, Sourav Ganguly and Mohmmad Azharuddin, have been nominated from their respective associations - Cricket Association of Bengal and Hyderabad Cricket Association - as representatives at the upcoming BCCI Annual General Meeting, set to be held on October 23.

As per the electoral draft released on Friday (October 4), Brijesh Patel (Karnataka Cricket Association), Jay Shah (Gujarat Cricket Association), Jaydev Shah (Saurashtra Cricket Association), Rajat Sharma (DDCA) and Rajiv Shukla (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association) are some of the other prominent names who figure on this list.

This list of 38 representatives that has been sent by the state associations will be vetted by the BCCI's electoral officer N Gopalswami. Objections on the entries will have to be submitted by October 7, before 3:00 PM IST and the final electoral list will be released on October 10.

Only after the final list is released, will the state associations have an option to send in the names to contest for the various positions in the BCCI elections. The positions of office bearers in the BCCI would include a president, a vice president, a secretary, a joint secretary and a treasurer. The other positions would include one seat in the apex council and two in the IPL governing council.

The eligibility of various state representatives would be a matter of contention as the Committee of Administrators has clarified that the state associations that don't adopt the Lodha recommendations in their state constitution would not be eligible to vote.
