New Angels acquisition Shohei Ohtani got everyone's attention Saturday when he stepped to the microphone at his introductory press conference and said in perfect English, "Hi, my name is Shohei Ohtani."

Ohtani even provided some humor. The 23-year-old Japanese phenom got people laughing and showed Angels fans he knows a little something about his new team. Or more specifically, Mike Trout's team.

Ohtani will be wearing the No. 17 as a member of the Angels. He wore No. 11 with the Nippon Ham Fighters, so naturally a reporter asked him why he made the change.

"I actually wanted number 27, but somebody was already wearing that," he said, alluding to Trout's No. 27.

Trout, a two-time AL MVP, could not make the event because he got married over the weekend, but Ohtani made sure to include him as best he could. He also took the time to congratulate the six-time All-Star on his impending nuptials.

It's a good idea to get on the good side of the star player of the team you're joining, but it's not a bad idea either to get a man dubbed "Japan's Babe Ruth" and put him on the same team as the guy widely regarded as the best player in baseball.

Ohtani won the press conference Saturday, now we'll see how much the Angels will win with both superstars in the fold
