It’s the photo that will bring a smile to every Livepool fan’s face this Christmas.

After eigth months out of football with a devastating knee injury, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took to Instagram to celebrate his return to the training park.

The midfield star tore ligaments in his knee back in April as he was ultimately ruled out of the Champions League final and the World Cup, but now he’s taken another step towards an inspirational return.

“That feeling when you’re back out on the grass for the first time in eight months”, he captioned the post.

Oxlade-Chamberlain raised his arms in triumph as he ran on grass for he first time, accompanied by a pair of coaches, for the first time since his heartbreaking injury.

His impending return would no doubt be a boost for the Reds, who have enjoyed an incredible start to the season - they lead the Premier League at Christmas.

Only two sides in the last 10 years have sat atop the table at this juncture and failed to go on to win the title. The culprits? Liverpool - on both occasions.
