Ashton Agar, the Australia allrounder who plays for Birmingham Bears, has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20 Blast season with a fractured ankle. Agar sustained the injury in the lead-up to the tied game with Yorkshire on Sunday.

Agar will return to Australia and continue treatment on the ankle that also shows some ligament injury. The left-arm spinning allrounder was supposed to be with the Bears for the entire season. He finished with 3 wickets and 95 runs across four innings.

Paul Farbrace, Warwickshire's sport director, said: "We're obviously very disappointed to lose Ash after he made such a great impression on and off the field. He will soon return to Australia to start his rehabilitation programme and we all wish him the very best."

Agar's injury follows Ian Bell's, who was also ruled out of the season a while back. The Bears currently sit fourth in the North group.
