GWS midfielder Tom Scully could be on the move to Hawthorn after the latest round of trade talks.

The Giants are facing a salary cap squeeze next season and keen to ease the pressure - with Dylan Shiel and Rory Lobb two highly-paid assets already eyeing moves to rival clubs.

Now Scully, who was one of the Giants’ big early recruits, is reportedly keen to return to Victoria and play for the Hawks.

A broken ankle limited Scully to one game this season but he has otherwise been a key part of the Giants engine room since joining the club from Melbourne at the end of 2011.

His recruitment would be a massive advantage to the Hawks, who are also trying to get a deal done for Port Adelaide match-winner Chad Wingard.

Bringing in those two players could see Alastair Clarkson’s men hold their top-four finish next season and bring them closer to the premiership frame.
