Abhimanyu Easwaran and Anmolpreet Singh stroked unbeaten fifties to guide India A to a seven-wicket win in the second unofficial Test against West Indies A in Port of Spain, on Saturday (August 4).

Resuming the day 185 for 3, the overnight duo notched up the remaining 93 runs with ease to help India A go 2-0 up in the three-match series. Having made ducks in the first innings, both the batsmen made up for it in typically contrasting fashion, with Abhimanyu being cautious and Anmolpreet being relatively flashy. The former worked his way to a 132-ball 62 while the latter stroked eight boundaries en route his 88-ball 51.

Having been dominated in the first two days of play, the visitors managed to turn the tide late on day 2 with Sandeep Warrier striking thrice as the hosts lost four wickets on 12. K Gowtham capitalised on that and returned a fifer on Day 3 to bundle out West Indies A for 149 in the second essay after they had managed to take a 128-run lead in the first innings. Even before Abhimanyu and Anmolpreet took command, the base of the chase was laid by Mayank Agarwal and Priyank Panchal, who had stroked fifties and stitched a 150-run alliance for the opening wicket.

Both the teams will now head to Tarouba in Trinidad for the final match of the Test series as well as that of India A's tour of West Indies.
