Ducks center Rickard Rakell scored twice to lead the Pacific Division to a 5-2 win over the Atlantic Division in the final of Sunday's NHL All-Star Game at Amalie Center in Tampa.

Canucks right winger Brock Boeser, who had a goal and assist in Sunday's final, was named the event's MVP to help his All-Star teammates claim the event's $1 million prize. The Pacific Division reached the final of last year's All-Star series in Los Angeles, only to lose to the Metropolitan Division All-Stars.

The Pacific Division team advanced to the Sunday's final at Amalie Center with a 5-2 win over the Central Division as Oilers center Connor McDavid had four assists and Golden Knights forward James Neal scored twice.

The Atlantic team reached the final with a wild 7-4 win over the Metropolitan Division. Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov completed a hat trick as Sabres center Jack Eichel had a goal and two assist and Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson assisted on three goals to help lead the victory.

The Pacific jumped out to a 2-0 lead in Sunday's final thanks to rebound goals from Rakell and Boeser.

The Atlantic finally got on the board with a goal from Red Wings defenseman Mike Green. But Kings defenseman Drew Doughty quickly responded with his own goal to extend the Pacific lead to 3-1 before the end of the first period.

McDavid had a superb breakaway scoring chance, but was stoned by Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy in front of the Tampa crowd. Vasilevskiy stopped seven of 10 shots he faced in the final.

Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury had to face only four shots in the first period as the Pacific defense clamped down on the Atlantic forwards. The Pacific Division was held without a shot on goal for more than seven minutes until Green scored again 3:26 into the second and final period.

Before Green's second goal, Flames winger Johnny Gaudreau, who assisted on Boeser's goal, used a spin move to score off an assist from Boeser.

NHL teams will resume their schedules on Tuesday with 12 games.
