ZTE plans to launch a lot of new handsets in the US
Chinese company ZTE has set its eyes on the US market and promised to flood it with affordable Android smartphones with decent specs. Recently, we saw the upcoming ZTE Axon leak out online, promising 4GB of RAM and 4K video support too.

While the Axon will be a pretty high-end affair selling for around $450 / €401, two new ZTE affordable handsets have just made a debut and will be sold via AT&T and Cricket.

Here we have one cheap Android 5.1 phone

The first one is the ZTE Maven and will be offered by AT&T for just $59.99 / €53 off-contract. The Maven makes an appearance into the wild with a 4.5-inch display with 480 x 854 resolution and 215 ppi and a Snapdragon 410 under the hood.

ZTE is giving off the device with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot up to 32GB). On the imaging front, there’s a 5MP sensor on the back and a 0.3MP selfie-shooter located up in front.

ZTE Maven ships out with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and relies on a 2,100 mAh battery to keep things up and running.

ZTE offers one more affordable handset

Moving on to the next handset, the ZTE Sonata 2 will be sold by Cricket in brick-and-mortar stores and on the carrier’s website, cricketwireless.com. The device will cost you only $29.99 / €27 provided it is bought with a line activation / upgrade.

The Sonata 2 comes with a 4-inch display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution and 229 ppi. Unlike the Maven, the Sonata 2 is a bit more updated, as it bundles a Snapdragon 200 under the bonnet, plus 1GB of RAM, but it still runs good old Android 4.4 KitKat under the hood.

However, the Sonata 2 overtakes the Maven in the photography sector, where we find a 5MP main photo snapper and a 2MP selfie camera. The Sonata 2 is kept alive by a 1,650 mAh battery.
