Those who rely on Yahoo's Weather application when going out will be pleased to know that developers have just pushed a new update that brings a much-needed new feature.

According to the official changelog, the latest version of Yahoo Weather alerts users 15 minutes before rain or snow is expected in their area. This means that users should now have enough time to grab their jacket, rain boots or umbrella, assuming they aren't already on the go.

In addition, Yahoo claims its Weather app is now even more accurate than before since they “took some major steps to overhaul the way we determine and serve forecasts.” In this regard, the application is now capable of zooming in on microclimates, among other things.

The new features introduced by Yahoo inside its Weather app are available worldwide, so no matter where you live, you should be able to take advantage of them.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Yahoo Weather for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.

For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store and it should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.

Windows Phone users have yet to receive these new features through the only fully featured client of Yahoo Weather called Weather Today.
