Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra shows off massive display, slim bezels, dual cameras in CAD renders

After unveiling three mid-range smartphones back in January, Sony seems pretty much guaranteed to start 2019 with another three non-flagship Xperia announcements, all of which are now previewed by prolific leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka @OnLeaks, in collaboration with MySmartPrice.

Unsurprisingly, the newly rendered Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra looks a lot like the “regular” XA3 revealed just yesterday, with an extra-tall and extra-large display in tow sporting impressively thin bezels... for a no-notch mid-ranger.

Despite adding quite a bit more screen real estate compared to the Xperia XA2 Ultra, the 6.5-inch XA3 Ultra is expected to measure a decently compact 167.4 x 73.3 x 8.3 mm. That would represent a small 4.4 mm increase in height versus the 6-inch XA2 Ultra, as well as a noticeable reduction in overall width and depth.

Still, a camera bump is obviously to be expected, which shouldn’t make the photography performance upgrade any less substantial. Two horizontally-arranged shooters will be mounted on the back of the Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra, with a dual-LED flash module positioned right above them, and... no fingerprint scanner?

No easily discernible fingerprint reader, that is, as it appears Sony will go back to the side-mounted, power button-disguised biometric sensors that are surprisingly starting to catch on.

There are no big surprises or other important design revisions to report, with a USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm headphone jack present, and standard 2160 x 1080 (Full HD+) resolution tipped for the 2:1 screen of the jumbo-sized and reasonably handsome Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra.

A few key specifications can be easily guessed, including Snapdragon 660 processing power, up to 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage space, and pre-installed Android 9.0 Pie software, but everything else needs to wait.
