Smartphone with 464GB storage capacity wants to break technology with monster specs
Technology has repeatedly been pushed to the limits by the mobile industry over the past few years.
Recently, Samsung found a way to fit in 80 % more battery capacity into Li-Ion batteries without an increase in mass but the latest technological breakthrough is coming from an upstart called Saygus.
V SQUARED phone
Saygus says they have built a smartphone which can hold up to 464GB of data without breaking a sweat.
Welcome the V SQUARED, a water-proof smartphone that doesn’t “play dumb with the bare minimum tech.” It comes with a 21-megapixel optical image stabilized camera which can record 4K videos. On the front side is an adequate 13-megapixel selfie camera which can record at minimum 2K videos as well.
V SQUARED storage
On the storage side, Saygus V SQUARED has 64GB of storage standby, but you get two microSD card slots which is guaranteed to give you 200GB of extra storage space each, and that gets us to over 400GB in total. Keep in mind that the latest X Box and Play Station consoles come with 500GB memory and their designs will have to take up a heck of space as well, but this is not the case of the Saygus smartphone which will comfortably fit into your pocket nicely.
The V SQUARED has Harman/Kardon audio tech inside for some HD quality sound time. The battery capacity is more than adequate according to the video below, but the exact capacity wasn’t mentioned during the playback.
Finally, there’s some bad news and good news. The bad news is that the V SQUARED isn’t commercially available right now because Saygus are soliciting for $1 million on Indiegog (check out the source link) to kick start mass production of the device. The good news is that the goal has been reached — with $1,095,873 pledged.
Update:
The funding page says a unit of the smartphone will set you back a cool $650 and will be available for purchase this fall.
