Alleged Huawei Mate 20 render

Although the premium Mate 20 Pro has been the subject of most recent leaks, Huawei does also have a regular variant in the works dubbed simply Mate 20. And today, in a new video published on Chinese social network Weibo, this slightly cheaper model has been shown off in its entirety.

The video in question is rather short, so it’s not exactly the most detailed look. However, it’s sufficient to get a good glimpse at the smartphone. When examining things from the rear, the regular model resembles the larger Mate 20 Pro quite closely thanks to the square-shaped camera module in the middle and the Leica branding just above. Thankfully, the rear-facing fingerprint scanner does act as a big differentiating factor. After all, the premium Mate 20 Pro includes an in-display reader instead.

Taking a peek at the front panel design, the regular Mate 20 makes use of a more traditional flat display complete with minimal bezels on either side and a rather slim chin. Additionally, unlike the premium Mate 20 Pro which boasts a rather larger notch, the Mate 20 features a small waterdrop one that is home to the front-facing camera and the proximity sensor. The in-ear speaker which is usually fitted in the area has been moved upwards and now sits on the very edge of the frame.

As stated time and time again, those interested in the Mate 20 should be able to purchase it by the end of October alongside the Pro model. When it comes to colors, the video depicts a silver model. This suggests that the color will join the expected black, blue, green, and gradient options.
