Since Google has already announced Android 5.0 Lollipop will be officially released on the market in early November, along with the Nexus 6, many handset makers confirmed plans to offer the new version of the operating system as an update.

Motorola, HTC and Sony Mobile were among the first to announce timeframes for Lollipop updates for some of their products, while Google confirmed the new platform would be available for download to Nexus 4 and 5 owners beginning next month.

But what about Samsung? One of the major players in the smartphone business, Samsung has yet to announce plans to deliver the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its devices.

Although rumors emerged about a month ago claimed the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 might be the first to receive the Lollipop update sometime in November, the South Korean company is still mum on the matter.

However, this is about to change as Samsung has just started to tease the upcoming availability of the highly-anticipated update for Galaxy Note 4.

The official Twitter account of the company recently published a picture of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that features a “sweet” wallpaper with lots of candies and lollipops.

This isn’t a standard wallpaper for the Galaxy Note 4, which is why we believe it is a direct hint to the upcoming Lollipop update for Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone.

The Galaxy S5 may get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in November as well

If previous rumors prove to be accurate, Samsung might indeed offer the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to Galaxy S5 owners as well, beginning next month.

In fact, Samsung may be the first handset maker that provides some of its products with the new Android operating system. Even though Nexus smartphone users will be the first to experience the new Material Design UI, it’s nice to know that Samsung won’t be too far behind.

Obviously, given that these are just speculations coming from unnamed sources, we recommend our readers to take it with a grain of salt until Samsung comes forward with an official announcement.

All in all, we know for sure that both Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 will eventually receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade, so it’s just the matter of when.

We expect at least a dozen Samsung Galaxy smartphones to get the Lollipop update over the next couple of months, but we’re still waiting for the South Korean company to put this all in writing in an official statement.

Sadly, we might have to wait for quite a while, as Samsung has a huge portfolio of smartphones and it needs to assess the situation before making any announcements. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
