Samsung stops pushing out Android 8.0 , starts work on new version
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ owners were pleased as punch last week as the manufacturer started rolling out the much anticipated Android 8.0 Oreo update in certain markets. However, a report published today states that Samsung has stopped disseminating the update for unknown reasons. The G950/G955-FXXU1CRAP files, which contain Android 8.0, can no longer be downloaded from Sammy's servers.
Those Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users in countries like Turkey, Norway, the UAE, India, Belgium, Germany, France and Poland who did not participate in the Android 8.0 beta, had received the new build last week. Those toting one of the two 2017 flagship models in the Netherlands are scheduled to receive Android 8.0 next week, although it isn't clear whether this will be delayed.
Samsung will reportedly start work on a new version of the Android 8.0 update for both models. Those who have already installed it on their Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ can continue to use their phones, as long as they don't notice any ill effect from the updated OS.
