All eyes in the mobile world are turning towards Samsung right now, who will take center stage at MWC 2015 to unveil its newest flagship, the Galaxy S6, and its double-edged variant, the Galaxy S6 Edge, in a few weeks.

Just yesterday, we've seen the Galaxy S6 Edge go through AnTuTu revealing a beastly performance. The device has scored probably the highest we have ever seen so far, gathering up a massive 60,978 points.

Compared to the most powerful Android smartphone of 2014 (also by AnTuTu), the MX4, which grabbed only 47,765 points, we see a pretty huge difference.

Anyway, the benchmark listing also shows that the handset will arrive with a potent 20MP camera onboard. Current hearsay has been hovering between a 16MP and 20MP main shooter, but it appears that at least for the Galaxy S6 Edge the latter will be the case.

What is Galaxy S6' camera all about?

Today the folks over at Sam Mobile bring us insight into what we can expect from the flagship’s main shooter.

Talking to insider sources familiar with the matter, they are able to reveal that the 20MP rear camera (with optical image stabilization) will be able to take photos in 20MP (5952 x 3349), 15MP (4464 x 3348), 11MP (3344 x 3344), 8MP (3264 x 2448), 6MP (3264 x 1836) and 2.4MP (2048 x 1152) resolution.

According to the information, the handset will make use of that specific API which got introduced with Android 5.0 Lollipop in order to bestow a Pro mode.

The Pro feature allows users to choose between three focus modes with manual focus included. It also brings the possibility of saving RAW files on the device and controlling the shutter speed.

The Gallery app is also expected to receive a makeover, which makes sense given the rumors circling around saying that Samsung is looking to make TouchWiz more fluid.

According to insiders, the app will display both icon and text for deleting or sharing an image, a transition aimed to make image-handling within the app more intuitive.

Naturally, we can’t be 100% sure that the information is correct, especially since it is reportedly related to a prototype device. However, in a few weeks we’re finally going to know for sure how things stand.
