We’re almost three months away from Samsung’s next flagship smartphone reveal, but the rumors on the upcoming device have already started to appear.

There are reports that Samsung plans to finally redesign the Galaxy S series completely, which means that we should expect the Galaxy S6 to look entirely different in comparison with any of the previous models.

At least, that’s the idea and one of the reasons the smartphone is being internally developed as Project Zero. The codename of the Galaxy S6 that was leaked a few weeks ago does indeed suggest that Samsung is going to change the way one of its most popular smartphone series looks and feel.

On top of that, the Galaxy S6 will be a major upgrade over the previous model, but not only spec-wise. The South Korean company hopes to include some innovations as well, which will reignite fans’ interest into the Galaxy S series.

However, it looks like Samsung has even bigger plans for the Q1 2015, if we are to believe a new report coming from SamMobile. The cited source claims one of their insiders confirmed Samsung would be launching two high-end smartphones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 trade fair, which is supposed to kick on in early March.

The source also confirms that Samsung has no intention of changing the series’ naming scheme, so the next flagship smartphone launched will be called Galaxy S6.
Aside from the screen, the Galaxy S6 Edge will have the same specs as the standard model

Besides the Galaxy S6, which will make its debut in early March, Samsung is also rumored to announce an Edge variant of its flagship smartphone. This means that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will be packed with a curved display, just like the Galaxy Note Edge does.

Aside from that, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to include the same specs as the standard Galaxy S6 model. Speaking of specs, the latest rumors claim the Galaxy S6 will boast a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels), just like the Galaxy Note 4.

Obviously, the Galaxy S6’s display will be smaller than Galaxy Note 4’s, but for the moment there are no details on the matter.

Anyway, on the inside, the upcoming flagship smartphone will be equipped with a 64-bit Exynos 7420 chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC (system-on-chip), depending on the model.

There will also be a 16MP or 20MP camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for great selfies and 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal memory. Stay tuned for more details on the matter.
