Samsung’s first Android Go device, the Galaxy J2 Core, has been the subject of multiple leaks over the past few months that detailed both the spec list and the software. Additionally, previous live images also showcased the smartphone’s design, which have now been backed up by a new press render that confirms the multiple color choices that are in the works.

As previously revealed, the smartphone in question sports one of Samsung’s more generic design that makes use of a cheap plastic shell on the rear. This is adorned by a slightly elongated camera module that houses a single rear camera, rumored to boast an 8-megapixel resolution, and a single tone LED flash. Moreover, placed next to the camera module is a rear-facing speaker. In regards to the front of the smartphone, this exact leak fails to provide a render from that angle. However, the live images that appeared online last month did confirm the presence of a 16:9 display. And, following in the footsteps of Samsung’s recent offerings, the Galaxy J2 Core unsurprisingly does away with the physical home button.

On the inside of the budget offering, Samsung’s own Exynos 7570 has previously been listed alongside 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. This will be coupled with a 2,600mAh battery and the Android Go version of Android 8.1 Oreo – the Pie alternative has already been announced but doesn’t arrive until later this Autumn.

At this moment in time, it’s unclear when the South Korean giant will announce its next entry-level model. But considering it has already been certified by the FCC, a release shouldn’t be too far around the corner. When this happens, the press render has seemingly confirmed plans to make black, gold, silver, blue, and purple variants available to purchase.
