Now that the Galaxy Note 9 is out, Samsung is focusing on building yet another flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10, which is expected to be introduced in Q1 2019. The latest reports about the upcoming top-tier phone claim Samsung will launch three Galaxy S10 models, which are codenamed Beyond 0, Beyond 1, and Beyond 2.

The former will be a lite version of the flagship, while the Beyond 1 and 2 will be the regular and the “Plus” models. However, a new report coming from South Korea claims Samsung has decided to add a 5G antenna to the Galaxy S10, but because that would mean a higher price for its flagship, it will release a separate phone for those who want 5G support.

The said device will be a derivative of the Beyond 2 (Galaxy S10 Plus), so it will pack all the good features of Samsung's most expensive flagship, and 5G support on top of those. Basically, the 5G-enabled Galaxy S10 will be Samsung's most expensive flagship for the first half of 2019.

The same report mentions the 5G antenna chipset will be provided by Samsung Electronics' wireless division and local communication chip maker GigaLane. For the time being, it's unclear when the 5G-enabled Galaxy S10 will be released, but that will highly depend on the availability of 5G network on the domestic market.
