Apple has been rumored to forego the use of Qualcomm connectivity modems this year, but thanks to the company’s dominance in this market, it is more than possible that the tech giant requires the chipmaker’s partnership once more. This news is a testament to the advancements that Qualcomm is making in the mobile industry and it is also going to be pivotal to the company’s success.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G Chips Expected to Be Outfitted in at Least 19 Manufacturer’s Devices – Full List Not Disclosed as Yet

No less than 19 OEMs will more than likely use the Snapdragon X50 modem in some of their mobile devices lined up for release in 2019, according to Qualcomm. Qualcomm did not go into details so it is not known which devices will feature the Snapdragon X50. These details will eventually be revealed by the OEMs in the run-up to the launch of their devices.

What we do know however is the name of the OEMs that will use the 5G NR-based models and include companies like HMD, HTC, ASUS, LG, OPPO, Vivo, Sony, ZTE, and Xiaomi. These are some of the announced OEMs, but it will be difficult to obtain the full list as some phone makers will probably want to keep it a secret for now. So, these are just some of the companies who will use the Snapdragon X50 modem in their upcoming phones.

With the arrival of 5G connectivity, a lot of devices will become mobile or ‘always connected PCs’ and so it is not necessary that the mentioned manufacturers will just release smartphones.

It goes without saying that Qualcomm has substantial support for its X50 modem which will enable 5G connections on the first compatible devices. The owners of these devices will benefit from marked increases in download speeds, more data capacity, and lower latency, which will evolve their entire smartphone browsing experience.
