Earlier this month, Oppo unveiled the R17, the first handset with a display protected by Gorilla Glass 6. Today, the R17's big brother was introduced. The Oppo R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel (the screen-to-body-ratio is 91.5%), and it is powered by the Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform carrying an octa-core CPU running at 2.2 GHz. The Adreno 616 GPU is included, and the device is equipped with 8GB of RAM/128GB of native storage.

Like the R17, the Pro variant has the waterdrop notch. And on back you'll find a triple camera setup including a 20MP lens with OIS, a 12MP lens and a 3D Stereo Camera lens. The latter is used for AR effects. Besides the trio of cameras, the color theme will also remind you of the Huawei P20 Pro (see the image at the top of this article). And yes, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor. Place your finger on the specific spot designated on the display, and the handset unlocks.

The Oppo R17 Pro has a pair of 1850mAh cells inside. That works out to 3700mAh of battery power. Using the two separate cells allows users to replenish 40% of battery power in only 10 minutes thanks to Super VOOC fast-charging technology.

Pricing and availability are not yet known, but we don't expect to see the Oppo R17 Pro offered in the U.S.
