Last week, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced a new technology dubbed GPU Turbo that would be arriving on a number of its smartphones to enhance performance. And now, in a pretty unsurprising move, Huawei has confirmed that its smartphones will receive the software too.

For those unaware of what the feature actually does, GPU Turbo basically diverts the device’s power to the GPU in the hope of improving performance by up to 60%, something that will ultimately enhance the overall gaming experience – Honor previously claimed that its mid-range devices could outperform certain flagship devices on benchmarking sites thanks to the software. Currently, it’s worth pointing out that the software only works with traditional Android games, but an update that will support both AR and VR gaming has been confirmed to be in the works.

Now, when it comes to which smartphones will actually receive the update, aside from the previously-announced list of Honor devices, Huawei has confirmed that last year’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will be receiving the feature by the end of this month. This will then be followed by the P20 series, Mate RS Porsche Design, Nova 2S, and MediaPad M5 tablets next month. Continuing into August, the Nova 3e, Enjoy 8 Plus, Enjoy 7S, and Mate 10 Lite will all receive the software, while the Mate 9 series will follow in September. Completing the schedule will be the 2017 P10 lineup in October and the Mate 8 sometime after that.
