At MWC in Barcelona today, HMD unveiled the Nokia 8 Sirocco – a premium device with a glass-and-metal build, a curved pOLED display, and a Zeiss-branded dual camera setup that combines a regular shooter with a telephoto lens.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco features a vacuum-molded Gorilla Glass 5 coating over its screen, which curves to the edges, Galaxy Note-style. Nokia says that every 8 Sirocco unit is made out of a single block of stainless steel, which contributes to the phone's structural integrity. However, the Nokia 8 Sirocco bears an Ingress rating of 67, instead of the growingly popular IP68. Still, it is partially dust- and water-resistant.

On the hardware front, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, paired with 6 GB of RAM, a 3260 mAh battery, and 128GB of internal storage. It also supports fast charging and Qi wireless charging, making it the first Nokia-branded device to support the platform. The display is a 5.5” 2K pOLED panel with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layered on top.

On the back of the Nokia 8 Sirocco, there's a dual-cam setup that features a 12MP wide-angle primary camera, paired with a 13MP telephoto shooter capable of delivering 2 times optical magnification. Up front, there's a 5MP selfie shooter that Nokia says excels in low-light scenarios. The camera software has been reworked, and, by popular demand, Pro manual mode has been introduced. It will be immediately familiar to people who've used Lumia phones, as it features the same arc-based user interface for controlling various settings, such as white balance, ISO, and shutter speed.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available from early April, starting at €749 excluding taxes.
