Apple is looking to take its phones down a size with the rumored addition of the iPhone "5se."

According to 9to5Mac the "special edition" of the iPhone 5 will bring back the 4-inch screen for users uncomfortable with the increased size of the 6 and 6 Plus. The trade-up being that the 5se will include hardware upgrades found in Apple's later model devices.

Those later-model upgrades include the A8 processor, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, Apple Play, and more.

It's even being said that the 5se could include features found the iPhone 6s: Bluetooth 4.2, voice over LTE, and 802.11ac WiFi , Live Photos, as well as gold and rose gold color options.

The 5se will likely take over for the 5s, with the older phone being discontinued altogether. The report goes so far as to say that the new model of iPhone will be unveiled in March, alongside the equally unconfirmed Apple Watch 2.

If it turns out to be real, the 5se would then be available for purchase either later that month, or sometime in early April.
