"Doctor Web" reports the emergence of a new malicious program, the main task of which is the hidden crypto-currency mining.

The malware received the designation Android.CoinMine.15, but it is also known as ADB.miner. Contaminated Android devices with an open port 5555, which is used by the debugger interface Android Debug Bridge (ADB). In Android, the ADB debugger is disabled by default, but some manufacturers still leave it on. In addition, ADB can for some reason be included by the user.

It is reported that under the impact were not only smart phones and tablets, but also "smart" TVs, set-top boxes, routers, media players and receivers.

In the process of working malware in a continuous loop randomly generates an IP address and tries to connect to port 5555. If successful, the Trojan attempts to infect the detected device using the ADB debugger interface. In a separate thread Android.CoinMine.15 launches the application-miner.

Thus, a malicious program is able to spread itself - without user intervention. The malicious functionality of the malware can lead to a noticeable decrease in the speed of the device, its heating, as well as the rapid consumption of the battery life.
