The rumor mill has been abuzz lately about the first-ever OnePlus smartphone expected to be officially released on a US carrier, but after Carl Pei’s painful confirmation of the headphone jack removal, we have more bad news to report today.

As it turns out, the OnePlus 6T will not beat Samsung’s next flagship device to the rear-facing triple camera punch after all, sticking to a dual shooter setup that looks awfully similar to the one on the back of the OnePlus 6.

That’s if we choose to trust a partial new render revealed by WinFuture’s typically reliable Roland Quandt. The tech journalist and increasingly prolific leaker claims this is an “official” image received from a “trusted” source, and indeed, nothing about the picture immediately screams fake.

In a way, you should be happy to hear the OnePlus 6T is “settling” for two rear snappers, as a third imaging sensor would have no doubt jacked up the price. We still don’t have a credible estimate on that front, by the way, but one feature that’s likely to increase the handset’s retail cost is an in-display fingerprint sensor.

That’s pretty much etched in stone now that we can see there’s no conventional fingerprint recognition mechanism mounted on the back of the OnePlus 6T, which by the way, has its name finally confirmed today as well.

The company never explicitly mentioned the 6T moniker in its recent buzz-building stunts, but over in India, Amazon has set up a dedicated webpage for availability notifications. Both the OnePlus 6T and those all-new Type-C Bullets are listed as “coming soon”, with no other details disclosed as of the time of this writing. Stay tuned for a possible October 17 announcement.
