Samsung just announced that it's getting ready to release a new smartphone and a new tablet in the US: Galaxy A6 (2018) and Galaxy Tab A 10.5, respectively. Both devices run Android 8 Oreo out of the box and will be relatively affordable.

Already available in other markets around the world, the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) is a mid-range phone that packs a 5.7-inch, 720 x 1480 pixels Super AMOLED display in a somewhat compact body. The handset is powered by a decent octa-core Exynos 7884 processor helped by 3 GB of RAM, and comes with two 16 MP cameras - one on the front, and one on the back. The new Galaxy A6 further offers a fingerprint scanner, 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Samsung says the Galaxy A6 (2018) will be available starting September 14, via its own website, for a suggested retail price of $359.99. Not long after that, the smartphone should also go on sale at T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint.

As for the Galaxy Tab A 10.5, this, too, will be launched on September 14. Samsung, Amazon, and Walmart will sell the Wi-Fi version of the tablet for $329.99, with an LTE variant expected to be released by Verizon and Sprint sometimes "later this year" (for an unknown price).

First announced in early August, at the same time with the more powerful and more expensive Galaxy Tab S4, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 sports a 10.5-inch TFT display with 1200 x 1920 pixels and is presented as a tablet "for the whole family." Its features include Samsung Kids (with high-quality content specifically made for children), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable internal memory, and a 7,300 mAh battery. The new Galaxy Tab 10.5 also comes with quad speakers and two cameras (8 MP on the back, 5 MP on the front), but it does not have a fingerprint scanner.
