Microsoft has already launched its famous Word Flow keyboard on iOS, but the company wants to go one step beyond that and improve it until it becomes the best swipe keyboard on iPhones (although competition in this regard is really fierce, as there are several popular apps in this category available on Apple’s devices).
And in order to get closer to these rival apps, Microsoft is already planning some updates for Word Flow on iOS, and the first of them will bring a new search feature that will make it possible to search for several types of content simultaneously.
For instance, when doing a search, the keys of the keyboard are replaced with content that matches your search query, so you get GIFs, images, and results from the web, contacts, and even emoji. Results are displayed in tabs, so you can easily pick the one that you need and insert it into the conversation.

Future updates for SwiftKey
Microsoft is also the owner of SwiftKey, which is currently one of the most popular keyboard apps on Android and iOS, with thousands of downloads on each platform.

When it purchased the app, Microsoft clearly said that it wanted to keep SwiftKey available on Android and iOS, so there’s no need to worry that it could go dark. On the other hand, there are users who think that integrating Word Flow into SwiftKey would really be a good idea, making it easier to type on an iPhone using just swipe.
Word Flow is currently one of the best keyboards of its kind, but on iOS, it’s only available in the United States and still part of a beta stage. Microsoft continues working on improving it, but there’s still no information as to when it could be released to more users in other countries or at least as a final version for those in the United States.
