It’s quite a busy time of the year for the Windows phone community, as Redmond rolled out the new Windows 10 Mobile, keeps pushing out preview builds, and at the same time, also releases new firmware updates for its new Lumia models.

Some users are now seeing a new firmware update on their Lumia 950 and 950 XL, the two flagships that launched with Windows 10 Mobile in late 2015.
Although Microsoft hasn’t announced this release publicly, WindowsMania claims that version 01078.00038.16082.36xxx is shipping to users in Poland (and possibly in some other regions too). It goes without saying that no change log is available, so most likely, this small firmware update brings small improvements, bug fixes, and optimizations for Lumia 950 and 950 XL.
What is worth knowing is that the new firmware updates are only shipped via the Windows Device Recovery Tool, so they’re not shipped OTA. This means that you need to connect your phone to a Windows PC or laptop and let the app check for updates for your device.
If you’re not seeing any update in WDRT, you have no other option than to wait until Microsoft releases it for everyone (in case the company is indeed planning a global release of this firmware). But since it’s just a small version bump, the chances are that there are no reasons to be super excited about.
