Microsoft will officially unveil the first Microsoft Lumia-branded smartphone on November 11.

We say "officially," because the beans have already been well and truly spilled via a prominent Chinese social network, but this is the first we've heard from Microsoft on the matter.

Over on the official Nokia Conversations blog, an image has been posted offering a glimpse at an orange Lumia device along with a date: 11.11.2014.

There's little explanation in the blog post itself other than the following line: "Microsoft is delivering the power of everyday mobile technology to everyone."

Earlier in the week, images hit the web of a new orange Lumia device with Microsoft's new branding in place of where Nokia used to be.

This followed confirmation at the end of October that Microsoft was to scrap the Nokia branding altogether, whilst keeping the Lumia tag, for its future Windows Phone devices. Since then, we've been waiting for the first Microsoft Lumia branded smartphone to appear.

It seems as if that first device is coming next week.

The aforementioned leaked device, which emerged thanks to Chinese regulator TENAA, is called the RM-1090. It's also dual-SIM, which suggests that the first Microsoft Lumia phone won't be a high-end device - a fact that that line about "everyday mobile technology to everyone" would seem to support.

Some rumours suggest a device that's proportioned similarly to the Lumia 830, but with a low-resolution 960 x 640 display display.

In other words, don't pin your hopes on a Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView cameraphone replacement.
