Microsoft to add breaking news alerts to Edge for iOS, other improvements
Microsoft plans to introduce a host of new features in Edge for iOS, which are already available to test in the beta version. If you didn't yet sign up for the beta on Apple's TestFlight, here are the most important changes you should expect to arrive in the next couple of weeks.
First off, Microsoft will add breaking news alerts, which Edge users will be able to enable or disable whenever they want. Also, Edge users will now be able to run both personal and work (school) accounts in the browser at the same time, but a toggle to keep browsing history separate for each account will be added too.
Another interesting new feature will allow users to view book annotations, aside from PDF free-form inking. Furthermore, new additions to the settings menu will have a blue dot next to them when they're unopened. Finally, Edge users will have the option to reorganize the items in the Favorites folder.
All these new features and improvements, along with many others, will be released in the next Edge for iOS update, but if you get the beta version now, you can already test them out.
