Micromax has just announced its first 4G LTE smartphone in India, the Canvas Knight 2. The device will be available in India beginning June 10.

The Indian OEM will sell the Micromax Canvas Knight 2 for Rs 16,299 outright, which is about $255 or €230. Customers who purchase it will also receive double 4G data benefits for Airtel.

If you think that the Canvas Knight 2 is too expensive even though it comes with 4G LTE support, then here is what else it has to offer.

First of all, the smartphone boasts glass panels on front and back that feature Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. But that's not all, as Canvas Knight 2 has been confirmed to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

On the inside, Micromax's first 4G LTE smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

There's also a 13-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash, full HD (1080p) video recording, which features a Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and 5-element lens. The smartphone also packs a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front with OmniVision OV5648 sensor and 4-element lens.

Last but not least, Micromax Canvas Knight 2 sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, while the lights are kept up by a 2,230 mAh battery.
