LG reveals new colors for its G6 and Q6 phones
Are you bored of your standard black or white phone? If you are, LG is releasing its G6 and Q6 in several new colors. The G6 now comes in Moroccan Blue, Lavender Violet, and Raspberry Rose, while the Q6 also gets the new blue and lavender colors. LG describes the new shades of as “sophisticated,” “romantic,” and “developed to appeal to both men and women who appreciate the finer things in life.” I’m taking this to mean my life will be more cultured and refined if I buy these devices.
My colleague Vlad Savov, however, clearly disagreed. When LG previously announced the Raspberry Rose V30 earlier this month, Vlad described it as “a distinct new shade of underachievement.” At least there are now two more shades to choose from.
The G6 now comes in eight colors: Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Mystic White, Terra Gold, Marine Blue, and the three announced shades. The Q6 is available in the same colors, except for Raspberry Rose. (The V30 is also available in the new shades.)

In our review, we gave the G6 a score of 7.7, highlighting its attractive design, but finding fault with its average cameras. We noted the Q6 is a smaller and more affordable phone, but it has a Micro USB at the bottom, which Vlad notes is a dying standard.
The new colors for the G6 and Q6 will be released in Korea first in February, followed by key markets worldwide. LG says pricing and release dates will be announced locally, though there’s no indication if and when they’ll be released in the US. The standard colored G6 and Q6 unlocked devices are currently $700 and $300, respectively.
It’s unlikely LG will announce a successor to its G6 device at the Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona, but make sure you check back here for all the news as it hits.
