The electronics expo IFA is due to start in Berlin in a few days, but LG decided to give us a preview of what people will be able to see at its booth. The company revealed two new members of the G7 family: the LG G7 One and the LG G7 Fit.

The two phones will share the same body, 6.1-inch QHD+ screen and 3000mAh battery as the company’s flagship, the G7 ThinQ, but have enough internal differences to separate them nonetheless. The more interesting of the two is definitely the G7 One. It’s the first LG phone part of the Android One program. This means the phone will be running what’s called “pure” Android, no additional software besides what Google has included in its OS and will be receiving the latest Android version faster than most other phones.

The LG G7 One will be powered by last year’s top Qualcomm chip – the Snapdragon 835. It will come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, but you can expand that with a MicroSD card. Although the processor is the previous generation, it should still provide more than decent performance. The G7 One will have a single 16 MP camera at the back and an 8 MP one at the front.

The LG G7 Fit is a bit more puzzling with its Snapdragon 821 CPU, which was Qualcomm’s 2016 high-end chip. It’s possible that the G7 Fit’s availability will be limited to Asian markets, but so far there’s been no information about it from LG. The Fit will come in two options: with 32 GB and 64 GB storage. Another difference from the G7 One is the slightly slower Bluetooth 4.2, compared to the 5.0 version that the other variant comes with.

Both models will also have USB Type-C, NFC and support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.

It’s clear that the G7 One is the more premium device and the Android One tag makes it more exciting than its Fit brother. Where LG decides to put them on the price spectrum will largely decide if those models will be successful or not. Prices and availability will likely be announced at IFA. LG’s executives are scheduled to talk at the opening keynote on August 31st.
