Last May, Lenovo originally teased a notchless phone with a 95% screen-to-body-ratio, and a battery that would was said to provide 30 minutes of talk-time even at 0%. As it turned out, when the handset was unveiled, it had a notch, a chin, and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. Almost everything that Lenovo promised about the device was an exaggeration. Despite what was seen as "deceptive marketing," Lenovo executive vice president Liu Jun claims that the Z5 sold very well in China.

And now, the company is getting ready to introduce the Lenovo Z5 Pro. This time, we could very well see the notchless, bezel-less display promised for the Z5. And without a notch, there is talk that this phone could employ the pop-up selfie snapper seen on the Vivo NEX S and the Oppo Find X. The Lenovo Z5 Pro is also expected to employ a fingerprint scanner embedded in the phone's display. We just might see some sort of face unlock system.

Liu Jun briefly showed off the device during Lenovo's Tech World 2018 event in China, but it was not a full unveiling (see images at the top and bottom of this article). For that, we have to wait until October 11th. And let's hope that after falling short with the Z5, Lenovo delivers the goods with the Z5 Pro.
