"We expect Vibe X to be a popular choice in Indian market as consumers crave for intelligent performance in a slim and light package and which is not overly priced. With this, we are strengthening our focus on the smart connected devices segment," Lenovo India Managing Director Amar Babu told PTI.

Babu said that the company expects to garner 5 per cent share of the smartphone market in the country in the next few years.

"I can't give and exact timeline for the target, but is should be possible in the next few years or medium term. We want to make our brand more known and that involves reaching out to more consumers," he added.

Lenovo has introduced its smartphones into select markets like India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, UAE, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Ukraine.

"Our ultimate goal is to use innovation to differentiate Lenovo and become a leading PC+ brand," Babu added.

The Vibe X comes with unique apps like SHAREit, which enables phone-to-phone data transfer in the fastest possible way.
