Kodak has come a long way since it was one of the famous camera brands. The company is now looking to enter the smartphone market and its first device, the IM5, is expected to arrive in less than two months.

The IM5 is a cheap Android smartphone that was shown for the first time last month at CES 2015 trade fair. Kodak is trying to bring some of its camera awesomeness to the smartphones, so expect some powerful image processing features and wireless integration with Kodak printers.

Although the smartphone was tipped for a Q1 release in Europe, at least one retailer in the UK announced Kodak IM5 might arrive in stock in late March or early April.

If it’s early April, then it’s a slight delay, but if Kodak IM5 makes it by the end of March, then it comes on time. However, that won’t matter too much, as those who want to pre-order the smartphone can already do so via Clove for £190 (€255 / $290) outright.

The smartphone is already available for pre-order

The smartphone comes SIM free, and if you decide to go for it, you can also register on the retailer’s website, so you’ll be notified when the IM5 arrives in stock.

As for the specs, we mentioned earlier that this is a cheap smartphone with mid-range specs. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, but Kodak claims it’s upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

On the inside, Kodak IM5 is packed with an octa-core MediaTek chipset clocked at 1.7GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. More storage can be added via microSD card slot up to 32GB.

The smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720p) resolution, as well as dual cameras (13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel secondary camera in the front).
