Just last week it was revealed that the global version of the Nokia X6 had received its certification in Taiwan, but today the smartphone has made a very brief appearance on the official Nokia website, suggesting an announcement may be just around the corner.

The image that was used confirms that the smartphone will boast an identical design to the variant launched in China last month. However, it remains unclear if there will be any differences when it comes to the spec sheet. After all, despite the appearance, the image wasn’t related to an actual Nokia X6 listing. Instead, the render was simply used to advertise the current Nokia smartphone lineup next to a “shop now” button.

If HMD Global chooses to offer an identical smartphone, international consumers can expect a device with a large 5.8-inch display and a Snapdragon 636 processor. Furthermore, the choice of 4GB or 6GB of RAM should be an option along with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Also, on the camera front, a main 16-megapixel sensor along with a secondary 5-megapixel lens will be featured on the rear, while a single lens setup is expected up front. Lastly, when it comes to the software, considering the upcoming variant will be offered in various international markets, stock Android 8.1 Oreo is to be expected straight out of the box, although a speedy update to Android P is a possibility later on in the summer.

For now, HMD Global is yet to confirm its international release plans for the Nokia X6, but taking into account the device’s recent certification in Taiwan, a launch sometime next month is beginning to look increasingly likely.
