The LG G5 has already received Android 8.0 Oreo in many parts of the world, including in the United States where two major carriers, T-Mobile and Verizon, have already released the update. However, the international variant has been skipped from the initial batch of devices that received the update

Starting this week, it looks like customers who bought the international LG G5 will be able to update their phones to Android 8.0 Oreo. If you own the LG G5 with H850 model number, your phone is eligible for the update, although we can't be sure how fast it will be deployed to all devices around the globe.

We do know the update contains the September security patch and that you should expect Treble support, but other than that there's nothing else we've been able to learn about what other new changes it brings to the LG G5.

Android 8.0 Oreo should the last major software update that the LG G5 will receive since the phone was launched two years ago with Android Marshmallow on board, so for a new version of Android you'll have to switch to another smartphone.
