Xiaomi has been pioneering the bezel-less smartphone look since October 2016 when it debuted the Mi Mix, which was subsequently improved upon last with the Mi Mix 2. Thanks to an image posted by Xiaomi’s President Lin Bin and later confirmed by CEO Lei Jun, though, it seems as though the Mi Mix 3 will take the overall design to a whole new level.

Eliminating almost every sign of bezel on the front panel, the Mi Mix 3 boast extremely thin bezels on either side of the display and towards the top. More impressively, though, is the size of the bottom chin, which is just a hair thicker than the rest of the bezels and represents a huge reduction over the Mi Mix 2 series. Because of this reduction size of the chin, Xiaomi has been forced to rethink the placement of its selfie camera. Thus, much like the Oppo Find X and Honor’s Magic 2, which was announced earlier today, the rear portion of the Mi Mix 3 will slide upwards slightly, revealing a new dual-camera setup of unknown specifications. Also, this area is home to the in-ear speaker and what could potentially be a front-facing flash, although the latter can't be confirmed due to the angle of the image.

In regards to the spec sheet, no official information has been provided as of yet. However, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 will presumably be present alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Elsewhere, considering the recent release of Android 9 Pie, the latest software will hopefully be on board upon launch.

At this moment in time, it’s unclear how Xiaomi will choose to price its smartphone upon launch. However, the executives did reveal that sales would commence towards the end of October, which means an official unveiling towards the beginning of the month is likely.
