Earlier this month, renders allegedly showing the Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL surfaced. While Google has continued to maintain radio silence about the possible unveiling of these two handsets, today tipster Slashleaks posted images of two cases reportedly earmarked for the Pixel 3 Lite. One case is clear, allowing the phone's design to show through the protection, and the other color option is black. These cases are also expected to be offered in other colors as well.

While the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL both feature the same two-tone design on the back as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the glass on the latter pair is replaced with polycarbonate. Google is doing this to cut the cost of manufacturing the phone, something that must be done to appropriately price a "Lite" version of the current Pixel models. In addition, the single camera on back appears to have a little larger bump than seen on the original models.

The Pixel 3 Lite is expected to carry a 5.5-inch LCD display with a 1080 x 2220 resolution. That works out to an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 compared to the 18:9 ratio on the regular Pixel 3 (although the Pixel 3 XL does sport an 18.5:9 ratio). Other rumored specs include the inclusion of the Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform under the hood along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The cameras on the phone are expected to remain the same as on the higher-end models. That means we should see a single 12.2MP sensor on back, and an 8MP selfie snapper in front. The speculation calls for a 2915mAh battery inside, with Android 9 Pie pre-installed.

The Pixel 3 Lite XL will reportedly feature the same exact specs as the Pixel 3 Lite except for a larger 6-inch display. And while the capacity of the battery on the handset is unknown at the moment, we'd expect Google to toss in a larger battery to power the bigger screen.
