On Monday, Huawei published a Mate 20 teaser video on Chinese social network Weibo which essentially confirmed the triple-camera layout on the rear. Today, the company is back with yet another video that once again teases the square-shaped module on the rear.

As was the case last time, no official details about the smartphone or its specifications are provided. However, with this latest teaser, the company claims that now is “the time to push the limits.” This suggests that, despite the lack of sensors upgrades, Huawei’s next flagship duo will improve upon the setup that debuted on the P20 Pro earlier this year.

In addition to the improvements to the camera department, the Mate 20 series will also receive a big boost internally thanks to the new Kirin 980 processor. This is then set to sit alongside either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and a considerable 128GB of internal storage. Moreover, larger batteries of a capacity of at least 4,000mAh are to be expected inside both smartphones alongside support for 40W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Also, Android 9 Pie with the EMUI 9.0 overlay on top will be present straight out of the box.

On an external note, while both devices will make use of similar rear designs, the front of the two will vary significantly. In the case of the regular Mate 20, a regular flat display complete with a waterdrop notch is to be expected. The Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, will include a curved AMOLED display and a wide notch up top. This increased width is due to the Face ID-rivalling technology that is incorporated. Also, the Pro model will ship with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
