Huawei P8 Lite is a lower version of the P8 smartphone that was officially unveiled by the Chinese company about a month ago. Along with the standard version of P8, Huawei also launched the P8 max, an enhanced version with larger display.

However, the handset maker did not reveal anything about the P8 Lite, though a few days later the smartphone went on pre-order in Germany.

Today, GSMArena reports Huawei P8 Lite hit shelves in Hungary and customers can grab it now for only $300 (€260) outright. The smartphone may already be on sale in other European countries like Germany, but it's likely to arrive in more regions soon.

Unlike the Huawei P8 that sports a 5.2-inch display, the P8 Lite comes with a slightly smaller 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

The P8 Lite is equipped with 1.2GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 620 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

In comparison, Huawei P8 is powered by a 2GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB/64GB of internal memory.

On the positive side, the P8 Lite is packed with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There's also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

While Huawei P8 drains energy from a 2,680 mAh non-removable battery, the P8 Lite features a smaller 2,200 battery inside, which seems to be removable.

Software-wise, Huawei P8 Lite ships with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Emotion 3.1 UI on top.

Other highlights of the smartphone include LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS with AGPS.
