Two shots of a purported Huawei Mate 9 sample unit encased in a black protective cover have leaked online, showing some details of the handset that's scheduled for a November release.

Clearly visible are the device's pure metal finish, along with its dual rear cameras (supposedly made in cooperation with Leica) and fingerprint scanner positioned right below them. Interestingly, the cameras are vertically arranged, rather than the usual horizontal arrangement we've become accustomed to. There's an LED flash next to the upper camera lens as well.

There are three openings visible on the front panel shot, presumably for a front camera, iris scanner, and a front flash. It looks like Huawei really wants the Mate 9 to be a fully tricked-out, technologically intense device.

Speaking of which, the Huawei Mate 9 is rumored to feature a 5.9-inch, 1440 x 2560 resolution screen and is to be powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset with 4GB of RAM memory and up to 128GB of storage, along with a 4000mAh battery unit. Reportedly, there will be a high-end version with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as well.

The Huawei Mate 9 will most probably debut at Huawei's November 3 event in Munich, Germany.
