When it comes to smartphones, Apple has secured its dominion over the market thanks to its iPhone products.

This success has drawn a lot of animosities from the competition, which does not shy away from poking fun at Cupertino’s efforts whenever it gets the chance.

Jeff Gordon's opinion on the iPhone, out in the open

Take HTC’s Senior Global Online Communication Manager Jeff Gordon, who went on to Twitter to congratulate Apple on the amazing financial results posted for the period of time between October and December.

Cupertino said that it sold an amazing 74.5 million iPhones and the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus probably has a lot to do with this situation.

While Gordon’s intention was admirable, he couldn’t abstain himself from making an acidic remark. He took to Twitter to say that he found the iPhone terribly boring, despite actually liking Apple products. He does own a MacBook Air, after all.

But according to him, the iPhone is the easy choice. He wants a phone that’s more unique, more personal, more stunning when it’s taken out of the pocket. Wink-wink, nudge-nudge!

HTC One M9 is due out in a month or so

Naturally, this is a subtle reference to HTC’s upcoming flagship, the One M9 (or Hima), which is due to be unveiled at MWC 2015 this year.

But from what we could pick up from the rumor mill, Hima won’t be that different-looking compared to the current One (M8), at least in terms of design.

Sure, there are going to be some subtle changes involving the removing of the black bar housing the logo, and the speaker design is going to be different, reminiscent of the Nexus 9, which is also HTC’s work.

Spec-wise, the HTC One (M9) should make it out with a display sitting between 5 inches and 5.5 inches with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and a hefty Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz on the inside fitted with 2GB of RAM. A 20MP camera could don the back of the phone, while a 4MP UltraPixel model could live in front.

But it remains to be seen whether the HTC One (M9) will dazzle phone enthusiasts, as the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus did.
