With a single update, Google Maps has added support for as many as 1.25 billion people. How? By offering the service in 39 more languages. Google says that prior to the update, about 1 billion people relied on Google Maps to navigate their way around this little rock we call Earth. Its hard to believe that Google Maps debuted in 2004 and was originally offered in English only. The app was pre-installed on iOS until Apple replaced it with Apple Maps on iOS 6.

The update adds the new language support to both the mobile and desktop version of Google Maps on Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows. If you would like to install the latest available version of Google Maps on your phone, click on the appropriate link: (iOS|Android).
