After the launch of the Nokia X6 in China last month, HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer noted the high interest surrounding the smartphone outside of the country, later going on to hint at a possible global release in the future. Now, thanks to Taiwan’s NCC, it appears a wider release may be just around the corner.

The listing of the device in question, which goes by the model number TA-1103, fails to reveal any exact information other than the fact that it is built by HMD Global and will support 4G. Nevertheless, it comes shortly after the same smartphone was spotted on a Bluetooth certification listing. Now, neither listing makes any specific mention of the Nokia X6 name, but the similarities to the original Nokia X6 (TA-1099) in terms of the model number suggest that this is indeed a new global offering. If true, the spec sheet is expected to remain unchanged. This means consumers can expect a large 19:9, 5.8-inch display complete with a notch, alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 on the inside and the choice of either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Additionally, 32GB or 64GB will be present depending on the user’s preference.

Aside from the performance aspect, the Nokia-branded handset boasts a dual-lens setup on the rear that is comprised of a main 16-megapixel sensor and a secondary 5-megapixel camera that should help with bokeh effects. Additionally, all of this is coupled with a 16-megapixel selfie sensor up front. In regards to other specifications, the global variant of the device will likely ship with stock Android 8.1 Oreo as part of the Android One program, while in terms of battery life, a respectable 3060mAh pack is included to keep the lights on.

On the topic of availability, HMD Global is yet to make any official announcement, but current information points towards a launch in early July, with the product then becoming available in various Asian countries including Taiwan, as well as Europe and possibly North America. Also, a price of around $300 is to be expected.
